Tonya Aultman-Bettridge, PhD


Tonya holds a Master of Criminal Justice (MCJ) degree and PhD in Public Administration/Public Policy, both from the University of Colorado at Denver. She has led policy research and program evaluations in support of children, youth and families for 20 years. Prior to joining TriWest Group, Tonya worked as the Senior Researcher at the Colorado Division of Youth Corrections and as a Research Project Director at the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence, University of Colorado at Boulder.

Tonya specializes in research and evaluation in child welfare and juvenile justice settings. She has led local, county and statewide research projects that target improving services for children, youth and family serving systems across Colorado and Washington State. She has particular expertise in quantitative data management and analysis, working with state SACWIS systems and other large databases, data privacy and security issues, and the protection of individuals participating in research projects.

Tonya is motivated and guided in her work by a strong belief in the importance of investing in young people and families. Her goal is to contribute to the creation and dissemination of sound local, state and federal public policies that meaningfully improve opportunities for children, youth and families to be successful in their communities.

Tonya lives in Colorado with her husband, teenage son, three dogs, two cats, and gecko. When not nestled behind her computer, she enjoys running, hiking, white water rafting and martial arts. Tonya holds a certified third degree black belt from the World Tae Kwon Do Federation.
